Rock'n Monarchs - Do monarchs like music?

Olivia W, Jennifer H

In our experiment, we tested the sense of our larva's' hearing. We had three monarch larvae listen to music. There were three kinds of music that the larvae listened to: rock and roll, Hillary Duff, and classical. We did this experiment to determine if the larvae would move towards the sounds of music or away from the sounds of music.

Will a larva grow bigger in a small container, a medium container, or a large container?

Boran D, Catherine B, Mikayla B

We found containers of all sizes - big, medium, and small. We made identical habitats in the containers for the larva. We then watched them grow. We proved one of our hypotheses, and we also disproved one of our hypotheses.

Will different temperatures effect the eating of the larvae?

Abby E, Chloe G, Tessa F

We put our larvae in a range of different temperatures (from 40 degrees F to 90 degrees F). We closly watched the larva's eating habits and proved one of our hypotheses. We also disproved one of our hypotheses.
