We wanted to find out if monarch caterpillars in a warmer environment would develop at a faster rate than caterpillars in a room temperature environment. We placed two caterpillars in each of four containers. We placed a heating pad under two of the containers. The two other containers were placed in a room temperature environment. Our results were inconclusive as we experienced 100% mortality in the containers with the warmer environment.
