Cricket's Choice

Heather D, Carly H, Anna R

We put crickets in a glass container along with different kinds of food. We observed them to see which foods they preferred the most: bread, cheese, plants, or seeds. The data that we collected showed that crickets preferred plants over seeds, bread, and cheese. We chose to do this experiment because we thought that it would be interesting.

Hops Away

We chose leafhoppers because they were easy to catch. We went near a swamp and some woods with a sweep net and caught several leafhoppers. We put leafhoppers in plastic boxes lined with light and dark colored fabric and observed them to see if they like darker or lighter colors better. Our data suggests that leafhoppers prefer dark colors.
