Variability in Monarch Wing Size:Gender Differences or Something More?

Shane H, Josie G, Karie L

Differences in Monarch wing size were observed and investigated. Monarchs were separated by gender, photographed on centimeter graph paper and measured. Because Monarchs migrate great distances, you would expect to see fewer variations in wing size. Our information with limited samples should be repeated with more Monarchs, especiually during the summer months, to compare migratory generation Monarchs with non-migratory Monarchs.
