Cockroaches and Substrates

Raelyn K, Kyle O

This fall we observed false death head cockroaches.  We noticed the cockroaches were burrowing a lot.  This made us wonder if the type of substrate affected how much they burrow.

Light Mixed with Cockroaches

Ian W, Damien M

How does the amount of light affect the number of visible cockroaches? In our after school class we noticed many of the cockroaches were staying still and burrowed in the wood chips. This made us wonder if the amount of light made them burrow more.

Moisture and Cockroaches

Carly A, Ayana W

How does the amount of moisture affect the number of visible cockroaches? During our after school class we observed that there were water droplets in the container. Also, we saw them under the wood ships. This made us wonder if the amount of moisture affected whether the cockroaches burrowed or not.
