Time of day has no affect on the number of birds viewed at Peppermint Stick Park near Coon Rapids Middle School. The average number of birds in the morning was 39; the average number of birds in the afternoon was 36.5. The difference of 2.5 is less than 10%; therefore, there is no significant difference for time of day. Although our study was done in the fall at a different park in Coon Rapids, we found similar results to the U of MN 2015 bird field study done in July, where there were similar numbers of birds in the morning and the afternoon. This may be due to the variety of habitat available to birds within the park.
